The Digital Exhibition Center of the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, which opened in 2014, serves as a crucial component of the Mogao Grottoes conservation and utilization project. By utilizing digital technology and multimedia displays, the exhibition center enables visitors to familiarize themselves with the history and culture of the Mogao Grottoes and appreciate its artistic masterpieces prior to entering the actual grottoes for sightseeing. This will reduce the number of grottoes open to visitors, shorten their stay within the grottoes, and minimize the impact of visiting, thereby ensuring the proper conservation and sustainable utilization of this world cultural heritage.
